week forty-one

April 24, 2011

In a week that had both freezing rain and snow, and temperatures well below zero, it was a pleasant surprise that the week ended on sunshine and a little bit of warmth. Doing what I always do when the weather takes a turn for the better, I biked to Dow’s Lake, only this time left my bike at the entrance of the park and explored on foot. Most trees still look like they are never coming back to life, but here and there was a sign that spring might actually be in our future. I enjoyed sitting up in a tree reading my book and chatting to the birds. Hugging trees and just being. (more pictures below the cut)

good things (week forty-one).

. a great Earth Day party put on by the CPAWS outreach team (including me)
. fabulous success with thrift store shopping
. Easter breakfast at Karen’s
. going out for drinks after the board meeting with Allison
. left-over cheese ending up in my fridge
. homemade tortillas and refried beans
. spotting squirrels and chipmunks
. woah… the return of Dr. Who

ohh I got two gorgeous dresses for the summer (one that is perfect for our photoshoot on the beach). One needs to be tailored, but for the 12 dollars I paid for it, that is A-OK
